Beach Bride

We can FINALLY post this wedding!! And it's one of our favs for sure! We had the pleasure of working with Katelyn and Derrick prior, for their engagement session. (it's gorgeous too!) Like many brides are facing today, our couple had a date rescheduled due to Covid, a change in venue (also Covid), and almost had to cancel due to a hurricane that came through and damaged most of the Alabama coastline. Not to mention, the night before her wedding, EVERYTHING had to change because a severe storm came through, causing the original location for the ceremony to be under water. Thank goodness for family, friends, and a rockin' bridal party, because they handled building decks, stairs and decorating issues like a champ!

You would've never known that there was a huge storm that passed through! The weather was a little sketchy in the morning, with cloudy skies and light rain. But by mid-morning, the clouds rolled out and the sun was shining, to create the most gorgeous sky and a beautiful breathtaking sunset! To say it was perfect, would be completely accurate! This beach, boho-chic inspired wedding flowed together seamlessly, from freshly cut pampas grass to the hand-tied macrame wall decor used as a cake backdrop. Every little detail reflected their unique personalities, even the adorable mini Tabasco bottles from their hometown (and her employer!).

What I think we enjoyed the most, was the sweetest moments captured on their first look. Katelyn approached Derrick in a gorgeous Maggie Sottero, vintage lace A-line dress... and he was blown away, as were all of us! Their photos were so intimate and relaxed, with a soft wind blowing and gentle waves lapping on the shore. These two high school sweethearts were finally able to share this long-awaited day, with their dear friends and loved ones. It might not have started off the way they planned, but in the end, it was absolutely everything they hoped for! It was definitely our pleasure to be a part!
